Essential Business Server (EBS) is a new product which uses the technology that has been gained in Small Business Server, and extended it to help Mid - Sized Organisations.
There are two versions of EBS 2008 the best way to see this is in the diagram below
You can see from the diagram above that this is a 3 or 4 server based solution, although these can be virtualised.
